Blooming Grove Reformed Church
Sacred Space PDF Print E-mail
“Sacred Space” is a gathering for Christians who are seeking a simpler, communal
worship that still embraces liturgy and mysteries. It will be a time of worship with an
emphasis on faith over religions or institutions and ideas over ideology. It will be a time
of worship for those who want a complete worship experience, but whose schedules
make it important to gather early on Sunday and be on their way. Each gathering will
be about 45 minutes long, including prayers, Scripture, reflection, brief singing, and
celebration of Communion, all proceeding with minimal announcements.

Christmas Worship Events PDF Print E-mail
We are pleased to announce the schedule for our Christmas celebration activities.
The first celebration on Christmas Eve (December 24th) will be a time of "Worship Especially for Young Children and Their Families" at 4:30 pm.  All of the young children in attendance will be involved in the telling of the Christmas story, singing Christmas songs, and prayer in this celebration that should take less than an hour.  Children will receive candy after worship.
The second Christmas Eve gathering will be a "Candlelight Celebration with Christmas Lessons and Carols," beginning at 10:00 pm.  Special music will be sung by both the choir and congregation, and multiple readers will share the Christmas story.
Sunday, December 25th, is the first day of Christmas, and the celebration will begin with a Favorite Christmas Carol-Sing at 9:50 am, followed by a Festive Celebration of Our Lord's Birth at 10:00 am. There will be a gathered celebration of the Lord's Supper, and Pastor James Hart Brumm will preach on John 1:1-14 and Hebrews 1:1-9: "We praise God for speaking in a new way." Child care will be available for infants and toddlers.
On Sunday, January 1st, the eighth day of Christmas, worship will begin at 10:00 am, with more carol singing, a celebration of the Lord's Supper, and Pastor James Hart Brumm preaching on Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 and Luke 2:13-38: "When we praise, it is also good to ponder." Child care will be available for infants and toddlers.

An Invitation PDF Print E-mail
We invite members of our congregation — and members of our Greater Community — to join with us in offering prayers. Prayers of supplication (either of petition for ourselves or intervention for others), prayers of invocation (which include prayers of confession), and prayers of thanksgiving (which acknowledge the blessings we have been granted): all of these, and others which have not been listed, are welcomed at this time.

Please join us in the recognition of the sovereignty of the Lord during this time of prayer.

Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

Prayer requests may be made anonymously, if you wish, at the time of the service or through the Prayer Request link on this website. The link provides instructions as to how to retain your anonymity, should you wish.

We look forward to worshipping with you. If you want to get to know us individually, please introduce yourself; otherwise, we will respect your desire for privacy.
